Articles: In Support Of The-Ones-to-Come

by Garry Rondeau

I am now am at stage in my life where I have the delight of being a grandfather of seven precious ones, and great uncle to another four. I find myself wishing that somehow, I could encourage and share with all new parents about the opportunity that they have to uplift and shape consciousness, and the world. I find myself, wishing that I understood what I know today, when I was a new parent. Maybe all grandparents from time to time find themselves thinking along the same lines.

Can you imagine what a difference it could make to the world as a whole, if every mother and father understood that the one that was coming was a beautiful treasure, a vast spiritual being coming into form? This being in its unconditioned state remembers its connection to Wholeness, Spirit and all others. I believe parents-to-be can communicate with the-one-to-come, calling on one who wishes to work with them and their specific goals in making the world a better place.

Mothers especially, by being the vessel, the doorway of entry for the one who is incarnating, have an immense power to make a difference. If every mother understood that she was a Divine Mother, and that the one who was coming through her, was a Divine Expression, perhaps she would care for herself and the incarnating one, with reverence and immense respect. The Mother, knowing the world and how it conditions the one who is coming, to believe it is separate and only human, could continually remind it, to remember its Source, and who it really is. Fathers can also do the same because at some level, we are all connected and aware.

I have worked with seeker-clients to explore the womb-time. The baby is so wide open. It rides in the soup of the mother's energy and emotions. It cannot close off itself from the barrage of impressions it is receiving from the mother and the world she is in. If parents understood, how important this womb-time is, in terms of the core conditioning of the child to be born, they would do everything possible to ensure the expectant mother and the precious developing-one, are kept safe and surrounded by harmony and peace. They would choose to support the consciousness of the one-who-is-coming, by keeping their minds clear of negativity, being careful about the materials they read, what they watch on TV, as well as the people with whom they associate.

After birthing, new born infants continue to be wide open and unable to close off the barrage of impressions they are receiving. Loud music, busy restaurants, malls, etc. bombard and overwhelm the consciousness of the new one. I believe this forces them to close down, in order to just survive being here. I wouldn't be surprised if some of the illnesses of our times, especially neurological and mental, are caused by these kinds of exposure. Our times have changed and it appears the world is more raucous and loud. So it is even more important to provide the quality of space that would enhance the ability of the new-born to stay more open, bringing more of their natural awareness into the world.

Ancient and indigenous peoples understood this need and provided special places or "lodges" where mother-to-be could go and be cared for. We have all seen pictures of the papoose, hanging in the tree, nurtured by nature, caressed by the wind. Being with Nature has a beneficial effect on the baby. Imagine the Nature Spirits singing to the baby, communicating to it how precious and beautiful it is, just by being.

I was born in my grandmother's house, and she told me that everyday, during my infancy, I was put in a pram to get fresh air and receive the peace of her garden. It didn't matter what the weather, wet, cold or warm, I was bundled up and protected if necessary, but spent some time every day outside communing with Nature.  I believe this was a blessing and has served me well, in my life today.

Perhaps we should recover some of these practices to assist the ones-who-are-yet-to-come to retain more of their natural awareness. When I see the world we are living in, I think we need all of help we can get.
